Captured by Maya

I think I need to get better film for my daughter.

Captured by Maya

I have hundreds of expired film rolls, mostly Portra 400, that I’ve tossed her way to use and waste however she’d like. She’ll go through an entire 36 exposure roll on one “scene” and other times not care to pick up the camera for months. Most of the film expired 8-12 years ago, so the results are all over the place.

On a recent trip to California to photograph the new baby of friends of ours Maya shot 4 rolls of films. 5 of those frames where of the desert. The rest, mostly, of the baby and her dolls she brought.

On this trip we talked about catchlights in the eyes and photographing things of interest that change quickly; tiny hands and feet, being swaddled, etc.

Newborn Photographer

Miss Maya is quickly becoming my competition! 😉
